I hate to sound like the mad rapper but I have to speak on this. Last week I went to a press event in NYC and the DJ Crew who spun the party was awful.
I expected more from these DJs because the crew is well-known. They spin a lot of fashion events and they make major coin from deejaying. No skills to speak of and the selection was uninspiring at best. Even worse, they were hanging out behind the turntables like it was a chore for them to be there. At least look like you're into it, right?
Like anyone else in any other field, it bothers me when I see crappy DJs making bank when they're not bringing anything to the table. I don't want to start calling out names of over-rated DJs... well unless everyone else wants to... but feel free to chime in with your comments.
