Often imitated but never duplicated, DJ Kayper is in a league of her own. Over the past 11 years she has shown the world that females have a rightful place behind the decks. Given the nickname Kayper in high school because of her mischievous reputation, she channeled her naughty behavior onto the turntables and has become one of the most talented DJs in the urban music arena. Heavily influenced by legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff, she mastered the art of turntablism at a young age and artfully merged beat juggling and scratch techniques with prime time club DJ sets. Her skills caught the attention of Jazzy Jeff himself who is quoted saying "DJ Kayper is the best female DJ that I've ever seen in my life!"

Kayper began deejaying at the age of 12. Growing up, the elder cousins in her family made sure she had a proper musical education. Rather than pursuing things that adolescent females do in their early teens, Kayper practiced hours behind the turntables to develop a unique sound that is all her own. Blending classic and current Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae/Dancehall, 80's, Rock and Soul with an expertise of Bhangra and Bollywood, she has achieved an unmatched level of versatility. "I've always been a person that set trends rather then followed them; combining my roots with my passion for hip hop and turntablism has allowed me to stand out from most DJs in the game today."

By the age of 15, she began her climb to the top playing in bars and clubs around South London. Her keen sense of crowd control and music choice made her the most sought after DJ by club promoters in London, Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester and other major cities in the UK. This continued hype caught the attention of international urban promoters and led her to rock crowds globally in Switzerland, Greece, Ibiza, Mauritius, Canada, Dubai, South Africa, Austria, New York and India. In 2003, she achieved an enormous milestone in her career after becoming the first female ever to win the Vestax Juice DJ competition leading to an instant endorsement contract by Vestax. On the heels of this success, Kayper became a staple in the urban circuit deejaying alongside UK favorites 279, Skully & Pogo otherwise known as the Associates. This elite crew held down the hottest urban club night dubbed "Get Down" at Bar Rhumba which was the most influential club night for that era in the London nightlife scene.

Kayper flexed her blossoming DJ reputation to secure her weekly club night dubbed "Ebonics" in the heart of Cambridge at The Fez Club which has become legendary in the east of England. Before long, she deejayed alongside Jazzy Jeff, DJ Cash Money, Clinton Sparks, Killa Kela, Scratch Perverts and Mr. Thing along with supporting some of Hip Hop's most influential artists in concert including Pete Rock, Pharaoh Monch, Ghostface, Guru and Arrested Development.

In May of 2006, Kayper signed to the BBC Asian Network to present her own radio show. Dubbed The Hype Show, it quickly became one of the flagship music programs within the BBC Asian Network. Her show is aimed at the connoisseurs of Urban and Desi music and highlights the roots of her turntablist culture. She has interviewed some of the biggest names in urban music, including artists such as Common, Questlove, Lupe Fiasco, Nelly Furtado, Chamillionaire, Xzibit, Kelly Rowland, Omarion, Amerie and The Game. Staying true to her passion for cutting edge urban and Desi hip hop, The Hype show also provides a platform for young up and coming artists to showcase their talent to a worldwide audience.

Kayper's intriguing persona and story garnered features in media outlets such as The Daily Telegraph, Blues & Soul Magazine, Sly & Cheek, Eastern Eye, Hip Hop Connection, IDJ, Big Smoke Magazine, Asiana, Asian Woman Magazine and Touch Magazine. She also showcased her talents at the UK Asian Music Awards back to back in 2004 & 2005 representing one of the only South Asian females DJs in the game today. Headlining at London's Ministry of Sound and Fabric along with New York City's famed SOB's and Joe's Pub, Kayper's worldwide takeover has already begun.
